Jordanne Bakewell is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in the state of California and provides mental and behavioral health support. She specializes in anxiety, panic disorder, depression, trauma, co-occurring disorders, personality disorders, life coaching and family/couples therapy. Jordan has over 15,000 clinical hours and believes that working with a licensed professional can often save years of learning through the harsh teacher of trial and error. She believes developing rapport and a strong therapeutic relationship is paramount for success in therapy and emphasizes client-centered approaches.
Jordanne understands there is no one-size-fits-all model and strives to use a multidisciplinary approach in order to address the individual needs of each client and situation. She has worked with a wide range of populations from children, adolescents, couples, first responders and veterans. Utilizing approaches from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Humanistic, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and other client-centered approaches, Jordanne seeks to meet each client where they are and collaboratively works to find solutions and alternative perspectives that facilitate growth. Jordan believes change can never be forced, therefore the role of the therapist is to guide, encourage, inspire, and support unconditionally so that change comes from within, allowing those changes to be concrete and sustainable.
Jordanne uses techniques and a compassion focused framework which has served to help her process and overcome her own mental health struggles. Being a wife and mother of three, Jordanne understands the challenges behavioral problems and mental health can play within the family unit and seeks to find pathways for clients’ personal and collective improvements.
When Jordanne is not working, she enjoys anything outdoors, from dirt bike riding, hiking and off road sports. She feels at home being disconnected from screens periodically and experiencing the joy of outdoor activities coupled with family time.
